updating . . .

No I didn’t just die and fall off the planet, I got swamped with work, then I got married then moved to another country. And guess what!? I am now unemployed it is totally new to me. I am not talking about waking up late because where I worked we had flexi-hours and I almost never woke up really early anyways. What I love most about not having a job is the napping, I get to nap whenever I want so much that I am abusing it. I’ve been filling my time up with FaceBook and YouTube. And yes I think I am addicted, I waste time like there is no tommorrow, from a 20 hour workday to a 20 hour do nothing day it is liberating but slightly scary.

I am getting back on track with my reading too, I am going through books like I haven’t in years. I am currently reading Big Questions in History and just finished My Name is Red. My Name is Red was an amazing novel, you open the book and Orhan Pamuk “Nobel Prize Winner” Magically takes you to Turkey in a different time and era and into the world of miniaturists and artists. A world of mystery and color and intrigue a definite must-read.

  • but the most +ve thing being your marriage!

I need to get a peep into the pamuk’s much “hyped?” book….

    have a great day! cheers!

  • Well I loved the book, I was mesmerized by the description of Istanbul at the time and of a totally different culture,The Author describes a time not so different from ours and a country very similar to the state of Arab countries today. He tells a story with words and with a paintbrush as well. If you like a mystery with a historical backdrop then this is definitely for you. I picked the book up at random back in Egypt, and never had time to read it until I was in Kuwait. I also enjoyed the characters narrating the story. The only real thing that I think would have made the book perfect was some colored illustrations of examples of miniaturist artwork. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
