Part of PBS’s Empire Series, The Medici: Godfathers of the Renaissance is a lovely documentary which tells the story of how the Renaissance was born in 14th century Europe. The Renaissance which means rebirth in French was a period of cultural, artistic, scientific, political and religious rebirth.
