There comes a time in life when you don’t know if you should take a left or take a right.
I have decided to take both roads
Which is why I am moving my crafty interests to the new blog The C Side
I hope you come over and join me there too.
And this blog is now my personal space for everything non crafty

 Heart Shaped Potato
I was tagged by AlmondJoyce of This Limerick called Life.
I love her poetry/limericks.
The idea is to list down ten things you love and then tag another 10 people.
I was making potatoes and found this today. A heart shaped potato. What a coincidence!
I love …
- the smell of pizza baking in the oven. I love watching the cheese melt and I love singing “yalla ya pizza, yalla ya pizza” with my two year old so it gets done faster. She thinks it is hilarious and so do I.
- voice over IP, because it means I can talk to my mom and sister without having to pay an arm and a leg.
- the smell of clean laundry.
- unexpected phone calls from friends.
- playing the “I love game” with my sister. It is a thing we do when we are down and just list random things we love.
- reading the most amazing books. Right now it is “Feel the fear and do it anyway”. It is taking me much longer than it usually does to read such a short book but I am taking my time and loving it.
- shower gel. A good scented shower gel really can change the world. If everyone started their day with a happy shower, there would be no war, no domestic violence and no pollution (ok I am exaggerating but it is my blog).
- jolicloud. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and it really has made me so very happy. A new OS is like getting a new laptop.
- soft, squishy, cotton yarns in wonderful colors. I think I am a yarnoholic. I buy it even if I don’t need it or even have the slightest idea what I can use it for.
- making stuff. Watching something go from a bunch of nothings into something nice is just amazing.

2. Mention six secrets nobody can uncover about you when meeting you for the first time.
- I count stuff in my head all the time. I count how many times I had to slice an onion, how many buttons on my daughters shirt while I am getting her dressed, how many stitches in this row, the crayons while I put them away, … you get the picture, I can’t help it.
- If I hate someone or something, there is no going back. I have never managed to unhate anyone or anything yet.
- I listen to things people say and notice the little details. I love getting to know people through the unsaid.
- I have always worn my wrist watch on my right wrist even though I am not left handed. I think I have always secretly wished I were a lefty.
- I love colors. Even though I might not wear lots of different colors and prefer monochromatic schemes in furniture. I secretly wish I lived in Rainbow Land.
- I hate it when people talk down to me, or assume I am not smart. I am much smarter than I appear and I don’t mean it in a snobby kind of way. Some people assume that because I am a housewife, I am also dumb or something. They usually end up in my ‘hate’ category.
3. Pass this on to 6 bloggers, mentioning their names along with their links.
- Mona
- Shimaa
- PearlinJ
- Yassmina
- Nousha

Women really do rule the world. They just haven’t figured it out yet. When they do, and they will, we’re all in big big trouble. ~”Doctor Leon,” This year Kolena Laila will start on the 24th of December until the 30th. If you don’t know what it is, it is an online initiative to give women a voice online by blogging, pod-casting, video blogging or whatever you like. Last year I decided to write about Respect. I still haven’t decided what to post this year, probably because I have all of these ideas floating in my head. If you know me or have been following this blog you’ll know that I usually refrain from negative generalizations. Yet, I also sometimes think that women need help in certain areas in life, like getting rid of sexual offenders, support after divorce and dealing with the changes that come with motherhood. I like focusing on the positive more constructive examples of women being successful writers, entrepreneurs or scientists at NASA.
Kolena Laila is important for me not only because it gives a voice to women, it is because it helps women create an online community of strong women who do not view themselves as victims, but as productive members of society who can change it.
If you also believe that you would like to tell the world what you think about women and their issues, then join us this December from the 24th to the 30th. For more info just go checkout the Kolena Laila site.

Just like a bad hair day when you wake up and your hair just won’t do what you want it to do, I had a bad internet day, only a hat didn’t really fix the situation.
First my gmail password wouldn’t work in the morning. *Gasp* I had a mini panic attack, because everything is on that account. My alternative email was a Yahoo one that I had shut down a couple of months ago and totally forgot to change the security settings in gmail. I tried logging into Yahoo and realized that I had forgotten the password to that one too, but at least it was still functional, the alternative email to it was my gmail one. Call about a cyclic error! Fortunately my Yahoo account also points to my husband’s email and I woke him up and I think he said something about work, email, computer but I didn’t really get it. To make a long story short, I finally managed to reset my password (7amdullah). Then I decided to log onto my blog to write something (which I have totally forgotten now) and Bam! my database has gone *poof*. I am serious! After a couple of calls to my hosting people’s support I finally managed to get a backup restored but it was dated the 19th. My last two posts were gone and all of the comments made after the 19th. Thankfully, my good friend Lasto*Adri told me to get them off Google Reader. I found them, but unfortunately the comments are beyond retrieval. So if you left a comment and it has magically disappeared, I am sorry. I made a backup and I am reminding all of you, please back up your systems, blogs, phone contacts, whatever it is that you would cry if you lost because crying over spilled milk is plain silly unless it was chocolate milk and it was spilled all over your cream colored carpets.
