I am in that phase at the moment. I feel like a phoenix in the ash state, deciding on how I want to look like and putting all the pieces together.
I watched this talk last week and a friend posted it on facebook again today so I remembered that I’ve been wanting to post about it.
If you read the comments on youTube you will notice that some people found her reading from the notes irritating and that it was better suited for Sakyet el Sawy.
I disagree. TED is about ideas worth sharing and spreading.
And Sahar has an idea worth spreading and sharing especially for women.
It is time to stop waiting or expecting a happily ever after. It is time to get up and get out and live life. Find a passion, find a goal, find yourself.
It’s time for me to make a move
And I know what i gotta do
Coz I got everything to prove
I got a plan I’m sticking to
…
The word is that I’m over doubt
But I don’t let it get me down
I ain’t nobody’s push around
If they could only see me now
There’s only one thing on my mind
And I’m running out of time
I’m coming through so get out of the way
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Nothing can stop me, I’m stronger than ever
I wanna see this through
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Whatever it takes I will do what I gotta do
I’m gonna lay it on the line
I won’t give up without a fight
Coz I can see the finish line
Won’t stop till I make you mine
To read the writing on the wall
I’m ready here and standing tall
So people think they know it all
So I guess I’ll have to show them all
There’s only one thing on my mind
And I’m running out of time
I’m coming through so get out of the way
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Nothing can stop me, I’m stronger than ever
I wanna see this through
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Whatever it takes I will do what I gotta do
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Nothing can stop me, I’m stronger than ever
I wanna see this through
I am a woman on a mission, woah
Whatever it takes I will do what I gotta do
I never give up, I never give up, I never give up
I’m on a mission
I never give up, I never give up
I’m gonna see this through
I never give up, I never give up, I never give up
I’m on a mission
Whatever it takes I will do what I gotta do
is Google’s latest Doodle4Google competition. I don’t usually take notice of the Google Doodle’s anymore, because I rarely visit Google’s homepage, I just use Firefox’s search textbox and go directly to the results. I found myself totally by chance over there today and noticed the line saying that 30,000 kids drew Google Doodles so I clicked thinking I would see some random childish scribbles. I didn’t find them. If you want to be inspired and awed then take a look at these pictures and ideas. Children from K-12 were invited to answer the question and draw a Google Doodle. 40 finalists have been picked out by expert jurors like well-known illustrators, cartoonists and animators from organizations like Disney, The Sesame Street Workshop, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates and Peanuts and Pixar Animation Studios. You, the public can vote for the best.
Here is an example:
The illustrations are amazing. I couldn’t draw to save my life although I spent half my childhood dreaming of someday becoming a cartoonist or an illustrator. As for what they wished they could do, that is a totally different story. Like little Michael who wants to create water filtering pipes, he’s only 9 if you hadn’t noticed. I am impressed, inspired and moved.
Maybe we should listen more to our children and give them more freedom to dream. Maybe, just maybe they will grow up to change the world.

If at any given moment in your life you feel lost, frustrated or unhappy, look for the one thing that is going right in your life, focus on it, enjoy it and revel in it. Soak up that happy positive emotion, because no matter how bad it might seem there is always that one thing. If you are the kind of person who thinks that everything has to be perfect for you to be happy, rethink your strategy, no one lives a perfect life. Look deep enough and you will find that even the people with the seemingly most enviable lives have their problems and deep dark secrets.
The point is to say a heartfelt ‘Thank God’. So, you’ll have to choose power blessings, ones that really really are endowments, that you couldn’t possibly feel deeper gratitude towards God for. Ones that you feel grateful for, everyday.
After each blessing, you’ll have to choose one word to describe your state. Examples: “Happy”, “Excited”, “Thankful”, “Humble”. Or, you have to choose any word that comes to your mind after it anyway – one that’ll summarize it all.
The ones you’d choose are preferred to be special to you, for instance, we all know that ‘Eye Sight’ is an immense blessing, and of course we can list it, but preferably if it has a special meaning to us.
The number of your blessings should be between 5 and 10.
After finishing your list, you should write the word: “El7amodellah” in bold, and say it out loud.
You should tag as many friends as you can – even the ones who don’t blog, inform them that they must comment.
After that, well, all you do is to be happy and to have ‘Reda’
My Introduction:(3ashan men el 2a5er keda leya mazag adeef, mate7medo rabena ba2a)
My sister and I were once feeling bad so we started a series of “Think Happy Thoughts” emails where we would email each other back and forth all of the wonderful things in life.
A friend of my mother taught me this du3a2 to say right after getting up from ruku3 “ربنا لك الحمد ملء السماوات وملء الأرض وملء ما شئت من شيء بعد”. She said something about the fact that we would never be able to actually thank Allah enough for all of our blessings.
I also find it very relaxing at night when you are in bed to say your tasabee7 and say Al7amdulla for as many times as you can, every time thinking of something that you are really thankful for. It is very humbling. You have to try it.
Think of things that you actually don’t like in your life and find ways to see them as blessings.
I couldn’t help myself and just had to use the title . Al 7amdulla for your sense of humor (I hope).
Do you know what the difference is between “Al 7amd” and “El Shokr“. This is a beautiful explanation, it is in Arabic and a little on the long side but it is worth the time.
My List:
My family. I am grateful for all of them, they are supportive, loving and caring. I feel BLESSED.
Being in Kuwait. At first it was very difficult. I thought I would never get used to it. Now, I know better. It has been a blessing in disguise. I feel HUMBLED because it turned out to be a good thing even though I thought it was a tough thing at first.
Health. Seriously, I am not just saying this. I know that health is a precious thing. I feel GLAD that I am healthy.
Not Working. I never thought I would choose to stay at home while my baby was little. I thought I would go back to work right away. Even though some days I really do miss being part of the workforce, I know that I am doing a more important job like blowing bubbles, chasing rubber ducks and teaching my daughter how to wear her socks on her hands. I feel HAPPY.
Patience. Learning to be more patient has been was the best gifts I have gotten in this life. The ability to calm down and become mellower has definitely helped in all areas of my life. I feel RELAXED.
I don’t know who else to tag because IBHOG tagged everyone but if you haven’t been tagged please join us. Tell the world why you are grateful, thankful and blessed. It is a healthy thing to do.

Imagine you won a 100 million $, £, or €. Imagine what you could do with them. Check out fancy cars like Aston Martins and Rolls Royces. Browse Tiffany’s for that perfect ring. Look at the perfect Channel dresses (you might as well imagine that you’re a size 2 as well).
Imagine that you could teleport to any place in the world. Imagine opening doors into other countries all over the world. See Paris, Madrid and Palau all in one day.
Imagine that you could sing like an angel.
Imagine that you are an astronaut or whatever job you think is really cool.
Imagine that you are as talented as Picasso.
Imagine that you are a movie director directing the next Oscar winning movies, then imagine yourself at Cannes.
Imagine that you are a mermaid.
Imagine that you are Alice and step into your looking glass.
Enjoy your evening inside your head. Children are happy beings because they imagine their own worlds. They eventually stop imagining because we teach them to “get real” but maybe they know better.
