Crochet Adorned {a book review}

Crochet Adorned Book Cover

I love this book.  It is by Linda Permann who blogs at Lindamade.  The idea behind the book is adding crochet pieces to clothing and other items with crochet to make them even prettier and some other projects that are awesome on their own like earings and the Lace bowl.  I have used the trims in the dictionary section for trimming scarfs and the motifs for various other projects.  That’s the beauty of this book, it doesn’t tie you down to the projects in it but opens a whole new world of crochet.  I also love the introduction which includes techniques and stitches.  It is a good addition to your library if you are a newbie or a crochet guru not just for its content but for its pretty photography too.  No afghans or sweaters from this designer (at least none that I know of) but lots of funky interesting projects that are smart additions to your wardrobe, accessories or things to make your home prettier.  That’s what I love about crochet, it is a medium that gives you alot of freedom.  My grandmother has a friend who crochets stuff and I grew up seeing lots of baby afghans (the standard baby shower gift from my grandma), tissue box covers and potholders.  Once I started learning I found out that there is a whole world of designs that are modern and cool, Crochet Adorned is right at home in that world.
