I came accross a little yarn store that stocks Addis. Yes, Addi needles in Kuwait. I bought a 2.5 mm circular to try it out. Sadly it is only 80 cm long, I really wanted a longer cable for sock knitting. I cast on some leftover sock yarn to test it out. Compared to the Knit Picks nickel needles, the tips are rounder on the Addi. They are the same length needle wize. The addi feels lighter but still substantial and doesn’t feel like you might bend or break it. The yarn glides beautifully on them. I think I prefer the sharper points but the addis excel at the join. It is much much much smoother, which is very vital to magic looping. Probably the reason I hate magic loop is because the joins on my knit picks is not that smooth. The yarn catches on the join all the time. I am impressed.
I found a lone addi at Barakat once and have been in love with it eversince I looked n looked for more i couldn’t find any . Now you really have to tell me abt this store u found did I see Debbie bliss in the pics
Yes yes it is. And the Addi needles “swoooooon” it is a small shop really small. But they have a really great selection, I am going to try and do an interview with them soon and get better pictures.
I’ve got some addi’s for socks too and I love them 🙂
I’m in a corner of the world with no yarn shops at all. I brought a big chunk of my needle collection with me, but I did manage to forget stuff that I found I needed later. There is at least one good Ebay seller out there who will ship to the far corners of the world without charging an exorbitant amount.
I have no idea if she sells Addis. I have found something I like much much more than Addis. ChiaoGoo. Their ‘red lace’ circs are awesome, especially for magic loop. Nice pointy tips, smooth join, cable with no memory. Everything you could ask for. Oh, and significantly less expensive than Addi.
