The weekend is over

I turned these mini granny squares into hair clips and pins.

I usually avoid the tiny hooks but these were made using cotton pearle thread and a 1.5 mm steel hook. It wasn't as hard as I thought. I am definitely going to make more miniatures in the future.

I also picked up my shawl again. It is made nursing fingering weight yarn and I had two balls of Debbie Macomber in Petal Socks. 840 meters of yarn, of which I have already used half. I want to use up all the yarn because I HATE partial skeins. It always feels wrong to have them lying around and they give me guilty feelings whenever I see them.

I also want to finish it so I can tackle my cardigan and two blankets and then make a pair of knee high socks for my daughter. She is super cute about her hand knit socks. She loves wearing them and when she takes them off tells me that they need to be hand washed. If that is not a great excuse to knit socks I don't know what is.
