I wanted something lacier and drapier but the yarn would not have it.<br \/>\nI swatched the lace and even figured out all the increases and shaping I needed. I even cast on for it 3 times and each time knit a few inches. But the yarn would not comply.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Princess Peplums Cardigan by ChocolateMintsInaJar, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chocolatemintsinajar\/7086651381\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7105\/7086651381_aa2e70559d_z.jpg\" alt=\"Princess Peplums Cardigan\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The yarn always knows best. It knows exactly what it wants to be and in retrospect I think the yarn was right. It is a beautifully saturated cotton sports weight yarn and it knew that it would not do the lace any justice. It would not drape or block the way lace likes.<br \/>\nSo I frogged and started a nice simple cardigan with a peplum. I also had no idea <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marieclaire.co.uk\/fashion\/ideas\/34784\/12\/spring-summer-2012-trend-peplums-fashion-trends.html\">peplums were cool<\/a>, but apparently they.
