{"id":1580,"date":"2013-04-20T20:30:31","date_gmt":"2013-04-20T17:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chocolatemintsinajar.com\/craft\/?p=1580"},"modified":"2013-04-19T20:46:14","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T17:46:14","slug":"sewing-a-new-knitting-project-bag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chocolatemintsinajar.com\/craft\/2013\/04\/sewing-a-new-knitting-project-bag\/","title":{"rendered":"{Sewing} A new knitting project bag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Sock Knitting Project Grab Bag by ChocolateMintsInaJar, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chocolatemintsinajar\/8662141547\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Sock Knitting Project Grab Bag\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8250\/8662141547_6b84b06007_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am not sure what made me do it.\u00a0 I just felt that I needed a sock project bag and remembered All People Quilt&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allpeoplequilt.com\/projects-ideas\/bags-pillows\/grab-bags_1.html\" target=\"_blank\">grab bag<\/a>.\u00a0 I cut out the peices and sewed it in an hour or maybe an hour and a half.\u00a0 It was fun and I am loving it.\u00a0 When I first got my sewing machine this was probably the second or third thing I made.\u00a0 It was horrible.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t find a picture of it.\u00a0 It was a reminded of how skills change, you learn to do things and they are no longer a struggle.<\/p>\n<p>I have stopped trying to cut fabric using scissors and instead use a rotary cutter. I know when I need to pin and when I can just wing it. I also know that I need to press seams out EVERY time because when I don&#8217;t my sewing looks like a cat chewed on it and then threw it in the trash. I have also learned to press fabric before I cut it, it takes 10 minutes but makes everything easier and the finished thing is always sharper.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Sock Knitting in Progress by ChocolateMintsInaJar, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chocolatemintsinajar\/8662142035\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Sock Knitting in Progress\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8241\/8662142035_619134d55a_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just like socks.
