{"id":179,"date":"2010-09-09T02:20:38","date_gmt":"2010-09-08T23:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chocolatemintsinajar.com\/craft\/?p=179"},"modified":"2010-09-09T02:23:52","modified_gmt":"2010-09-08T23:23:52","slug":"my-creative-space-bumpy-crochet-dishcloth-how-to","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chocolatemintsinajar.com\/craft\/2010\/09\/my-creative-space-bumpy-crochet-dishcloth-how-to\/","title":{"rendered":"My Creative Space: Bumpy Crochet Dishcloth {How to}"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Green Dishcloth by ChocolateMintsInaJar, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chocolatemintsinajar\/4971798365\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4148\/4971798365_158fd6edd1.jpg\" alt=\"Green Dishcloth\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After knitting a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chocolatemintsinajar.com\/craft\/2010\/08\/my-creative-space-more-knitting\/\">dishcloth<\/a> and using it for some time I realized that dishcloths really are awesome. \u00a0I then made another one using the same yarn but smaller needles. \u00a0Then I decided to use some leftover cotton to make a crochet one. \u00a0At first I had no idea what to do with them, then found out that they are pretty little things that make wiping counters and drying dishes so much more fun. \u00a0Some people use them to wash dishes but I prefer to use my tawashis for that.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also learned:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cotton is better for dishcloths because it is more absorbent.<\/li>\n<li>The tighter the fabric is the better. \u00a0Dishcloths need to be dense.<\/li>\n<li>You can throw them in the washing machine without worrying.<\/li>\n<li>They are environmentally friendly, \u00a0they can be used to soak up spills instead of kitchen towels.<\/li>\n<li>They are great for\u00a0practicing\u00a0different stitches.<\/li>\n<li>They are quick to make and can also be used as washcloths and facecloths.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Green Dishcloth by ChocolateMintsInaJar, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chocolatemintsinajar\/4972410710\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4104\/4972410710_33a594cc7b.jpg\" alt=\"Green Dishcloth\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Want to make one?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<p>Stitches between asterisks ** are to be repeated<\/p>\n<p>I used Coats India\u00a0Cinderella\u00a0and 3.5 mm hook<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Chain:<\/strong> Chain 37 {or any odd number depending on the size you want to make}<\/p>\n<p><strong>Row 1 : <\/strong>SC in the next 36 stitches.
