My Creative Space: It had to happen

I wanted to practice more knitting, I wanted to make something I would use

It had to happen

The knitted bag with crocheted handles:

It kept saying knit me.

It was great trying out circulars, I dislike purling.

Here are some other lovely creative spaces.

To7fa 🙂 Try one standard and the other purl and you will get a very nice texture 🙂 When I wanted to enhance my knitting skills , I was advised by an old lady to start with 20 rows of standard stitch then 20 purls and then one and one for 20 rows 🙂

Been doing that, bas that is the beauty of the circular needles, you don’t need to do a knit row then a purl row because it is all worked on the right side.

You really should give it a go, crochet is faster but knitting uses up less yarn and makes a much softer fabric. And think of all the possibilities of things you could make knowing both

    SA ,

How can I start knitting?? I think it’s very hard…crochet is way easier

I still think crochet is easier but I think that is because it is what I learned first. Most people who do both usually agree that whichever craft you learned first will usually be easier. You can look up videos on youtube or on knittinghelp.com.
I would also recommend trying continental style knitting because it might feel more natural to load the yarn in your left hand and work with your right (if you are right handed) because it is similar to how it works in crochet. I had to try English first until I got a hang of where the yarn goes and which direction it wraps. And then I did the switch. It just needs patience and finding interesting but easy practice patterns.
If you already crochet then you are already half way there because you already understand yarn, texture, fabric, drape and lots of things a total newbie might not.
